Already a fixed factor: Will Werder take the purchase option for Köhn?

Shortly before the end of the transfer period, Derrick Köhn moved from Galatasaray to Werder Bremen on a one-year loan deal. The Green-Whites also secured a purchase option, which, according to consistent media reports, is worth just over five million euros.

Köhn celebrated a successful debut on the Weser, scoring the 2-1 winner against FSV Mainz 05 and is already in the left wing position. So reason enough to think about activating the purchase option now?

“Now is generally not the time to think in this direction. We always have to keep our economic situation in mind,” Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football in Bremen, is quoted as saying by “kicker”. A decision on this matter is therefore only expected towards the end of the season.
