This week’s “SNL” cold open pits a cameo team of Democrats against Trump in “Family Feud.”

Survey says: Live from New York, it’s Saturday evening! This week’s episode of Saturday Night Live It began with a hilarious cold offensive, imagining what the next presidential debate might look like if both parties had agreed. But instead of the traditional debate setting SNL asked the question: “What would happen if we brought all these politicians together for a spirited game?” Family feud?” And thank God, because the answer is as funny as it is absurd.

On the left we have Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph), Doug Emhoff (Andy Samberg), Tim Waltz (Jim Gaffigan), And Joe Biden (Dana Carvey). We have it on the right Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson), Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day), And JD Vance (Bowen Yang). Notably absent from the lineup was former First Lady Melania Trump. As Johnson’s Trump quipped, “I could have sworn she was standing right next to me about two years ago.” Although we’ve seen all of these before, it’s always exciting to have so many stars in Studio 8H.

Throughout the skit, Team Harris competes against Team Trump in traditional mode Family feud Style: Each team sends a representative to guess the most popular answers to questions (because politicians are just like us, right?). Steve Harvey (Kenan Thompson) asks a few less Family feudThere are also “Maria-style” questions, like when Harris reveals that her campaign raised $1 billion in donations this week. “Why don’t you win by a landslide?” he asks, to which Harris replies, “That’s a question I scream into my pillow every morning.” Rudolph’s Harris also wants to point out that she owns a Glock (and it’s in the glove compartment your car).

Team Trump is a little more secretive. When Vance and Donald Jr. get the chance to steal the question from the Democrats, they decline, saying, “I was told not to speak.” Meanwhile, when Trump gets the floor, he avoids the question entirely and goes for one another type Jerry Seinfeld He wears mom jeans and backs up his current statement “They eat the pets” with the words: “They eat Moo Deng!”
