Senate candidates will take part in the first televised debate

October 13 – Senate candidates Martin Heinrich and Nella Domenici will have their first televised debate on KOAT TV on Monday. The debate will air from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Channel 7 and is designed to address some of the most pressing issues facing New Mexicans.

Viewers can also tune in online, where the debate will be available on YouTube.

Republican Domenici and Democratic incumbent Heinrich have already spoken about each other in televised attack ads, but the debate could give voters a chance to see the two political candidates talk to each other and answer direct questions.

Dan Boyd, Albuquerque Journal Capitol Bureau chief, will be one of the debate moderators. Also taking part in the panel will be Bob Clark of KKOB Radio and a KOAT journalist.

The two Senate candidates are scheduled to debate again on October 27th in the Congregation Albert. Participation in this debate is free, but reservation is required.

The general election is November 5th and early voting has already begun.
