Iran rejects allegations against Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani as “fake news”.

Iran has strongly rejected media claims that Esmail Qaani, the commander of the elite Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was under investigation or under surveillance for security violations. Recent reports have alleged that Qaani was a Mossad spy involved in the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, sparking widespread speculation.

A source within the Iranian embassy has strongly denied these claims, calling them “fake news.” They said: “We strongly reject the allegation that Esmail Qaani is a Mossad agent. Such claims have no basis or credibility.” The embassy also stressed that the IRGC had officially announced that Qaani would receive the highest military award from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, dispelling rumors of investigations or accusations against him him.

The embassy’s response underscores Iran’s unwavering support for Qaani and highlights his respected position within the IRGC, following in the footsteps of his predecessor Qassem Soleimani. Iranian authorities continue to insist that these allegations are part of a disinformation campaign aimed at destabilizing the region and damaging the reputation of its military leadership.
