Speed camera warning after Amazon Prime Day: offers, prices

(Pixabay/Amazon)Speed camera warning for Prime Day: Already heavily reduced

The rush for speed camera warning devices on Amazon Prime Day was huge: bargain hunters were keen on the heavily discounted gadgets from Needit and Ooono. Amazon has now raised prices again. But a box office hit is hardly more expensive than it was during Prime Days.

For links that come with “To the provider” or “To the shop” are marked, we may receive a determination.

In addition to the popular Blitzer.de app, there is now also hardware to warn of speed checks – so-called speed camera warnings. They usually resort to the Data from Blitzer.de back, but also form a kind of network with each other – via the manufacturer’s app. The big advantage: In contrast to the pure software solution, the devices do not have to be activated before each trip, but rather connect automatically when you get into the car Bluetooth with your smartphone and are immediately ready for use.

After Prime Day 2024: Speed camera detectors hardly cost more than at the shopping event

Even after Prime Days you can come with this Drive One speed camera detector from Needit very cheaply. The price only rose by 1.86 euros. So, regardless of whether you are a Prime customer or not, you still pay a very fair 21.85 euros at Amazon (click here to go directly to the Amazon offer).

Shipping is free within one day for Prime customers. There are no additional costs: the speed camera detector works completely without subscription. Only the battery (CR2450) needs to be replaced after about one to two years.

Are speed camera detectors allowed?

Speed camera detectors are banned in Germany. Practically speaking, using a device – be it the OOONO passenger #1 or just that one Needit Drive One – more of a gray area. Finally, it also warns Dangerous areas such as construction sites, traffic jams or accidents. It may be difficult for the police to prove that you are using it for the purpose of warning about speed traps. Even the conservative Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp is taking the risk and using speed camera detectors, as he revealed in an interview.
Nevertheless: If you are caught doing so, you will receive a fine of 75 euros and a point in the driving fitness register in Flensburg. The same applies if you use the app and the police catch you. Other passengers in the vehicle are also not allowed to use speed camera detectors, as the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court ruled (EFAHRER reported).

After Prime Day 2024: Electronic parking meters cost 4 euros more

Also very popular is next to that Drive One speed camera detector from Needit, the electronic parking disc from the same company. You were able to get this for 20 euros during Prime Days, but now it still costs a very moderate 23.95 euros, which is a good price considering the RRP of 35 euros.

In contrast to the speed camera detector, the parking meter one official approval from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (ECE approval no. E1 10R – 047203). The parking time is set automatically after the vehicle has been stationary for 20 seconds and only continues when the car is started moving again. The parking disc is also suitable for night parking zones: If the parking zone doesn’t start until the next morning, you can set the parking meter accordingly.
