The guest comment from Obermaier: Grünwalder? Reisinger’s position remains unclear and pale

The discussion about the Grünwalder Stadium – episode 1,657. The lions and the city take their place – there are only mutual accusations. The Forstern construction entrepreneur Franz-Josef Obermaier, who is confident of the role of president at TSV 1860, with a guest comment on db24:

TSV 1860 Munich, a traditional club that dreams of a glorious past and at the same time is stuck in the present, is in a deadlock situation – in many respects. Especially when it comes to the issue of the Grünwalder Stadium, the old, dilapidated home that represents so much identity for the club and its fans. But this is exactly where the problem lies: the stadium is no longer up to date and is symbolic of the club’s stagnating development.

At the forefront of responsibility is Robert Reisinger, the successful management consultant and president of the association, who always remains in the shadow of political actors such as Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter. Reisinger does not seem to be able to exert any real influence in the negotiations over the Grünwalder Stadium. While Reiter finds clear words and announces concrete steps, Reisinger’s position remains unclear and pale. For many fans, this is a symbol of the club’s current management: weak, divided and without a real vision.

The Grünwalder Stadium, where the Lions have played their games for many years, is in a dilapidated condition. There is a lack of modern infrastructure, which should have long been standard for professional football. Nevertheless, there is no real progress in the plans to modernize the stadium or even to build a completely new one. Here the club under Reisinger’s leadership is at a standstill. It is clear to every fan that TSV 1860 Munich needs strong, united forces in order to be successful in the future and to free themselves from the depths of the third division.

But instead of pooling strength and pursuing a common goal, there is disagreement and standstill. Unfortunately, the club is divided: the fans want a clear and ambitious vision for the future, while the management does not provide any real answers to the pressing questions. The Lions urgently need a leadership that ensures unity and strength, that not only fights symbolically for the club, but can also demonstrate concrete results. This is the only way TSV 1860 Munich could finally become a serious player in German football again – and a new, modern stadium would be the perfect symbol of this.

However, as long as the current club management is in place, it remains to be feared that nothing will change. In its current state, the time-honored but dilapidated Grünwald Stadium is a perfect fit for TSV 1860 Munich: it stands for missed opportunities, for clinging to the past and for the inability to move courageously into the future.

Many fans want a modern stadium that not only meets the demands of today, but also reflects the club’s pride and ambitions. A stadium where not only memories of days gone by can be revived, but where new successes can also be celebrated. But the road still seems long until that happens – perhaps too long as long as Robert Reisinger and his leadership are running the club.
