On October 12, 2024, at approximately 5:26 p.m., officers reported hearing gunfire near the 1700 block of North Calhoun Street. While en route to the scene, officers encountered a 24-year-old male victim on North Mount Street, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were administered until medics arrived, and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

  • Victim targeted in disturbing hate crime in Northwest DC

    Washington, D.C – A disturbing robbery in Northwest D.C. has prompted a call for public assistance in identifying the suspect involved.

    On October 12, at approximately 9:44 a.m., the victim was walking in the 800 block of 6th Street, Northwest, when the suspect approached her and attacked her. As the suspect fled the scene, they made comments that referenced the victim's ethnicity.

    Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect that could be helpful in the investigation.

    Anyone who can identify the suspect or has information about the incident is urged to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the department's TEXT-TIP LINE at 50411. The DC Metro Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals responsible for crimes committed in the District of Columbia.

    The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating this crime as it may be motivated by hate or bias. The name may change during the course of the investigation. The Special Liaison Branch is supporting the investigation.

  • Man arrested on active warrant for public intoxication

    Wilkes-Barre, PA – A local resident was arrested Saturday morning for public intoxication. Police were called to 815 Kidder Street at 1:51 a.m. for reports of disorderly conduct.

    Upon arrival, officers observed 36-year-old Joshua Creasing exhibiting disruptive behavior. Creasing reportedly rolled on the floor and threw items off the shelves.

    Investigations revealed that Creasing was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

    Creasing was taken into custody by Wilkes-Barre City Police. He was then transported to city headquarters and then to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF).
