Lauded attitude of Hardik Pandya: “He accepted Suryakumar Yadav as captain and was successful”

Hardik Pandya was praised for his positive attitude and professionalism in taking the lead of Suryakumar Yadav from veteran Australian spinner Brad Hogg. Hogg highlighted Hardik’s maturity and stated that Pandya’s acceptance of Suryakumar as captain not only helped the team but also enabled Hardik to focus on his own game.

“I love the way he has accepted (Hardik) Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of this Indian team but it has also helped his game. He’s also really starting to grow with the bat and has shown his true form.”

“He struggled a bit in the last IPL and we all know why because there was a lot of pressure on him moving from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians, but he just showed his true class here,” Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

Hogg also explained how the presence of someone like Hardik adds depth to the Indian team.

“If you want to be a dominant team in T20Is, you need medium-pace all-rounders and that is what Hardik brings. Even though it is a little more expensive than your traditional bowler, it still adds depth to your batting,” he concluded.

After blowing away Bangladesh, Suryakumar Yadav had also praised Pandya along with him Indian cricket team. “We have achieved a lot as a team. I want to have selfless cricketers on my team as much time as possible and that the camaraderie on the field lasts and we have fun. The conversations in the team were like this, Gauti Bhai said at the start of the series and also when we went to Sri Lanka “No one is bigger than the team,” Yadav had said.
