Fit for the winter – fitness tips from the professionals in the Wiener Neustadt district

Whether strength training, running, team sports or just going for a walk – exercise is healthy. But many people often find it difficult to maintain regularity and overcome their inner weakness. For beginners, starting a new sport or after a long break from training, it is also important to avoid common mistakes. Especially in the gym, newbies set their goals far too high, says Michael Schaffer, branch manager of the “Speedfit” fitness center in Wr. Neustadt. The most common mistake is wanting too much too quickly. “For us, you should start with a simple full-body workout that slowly strengthens all the muscles.” “You shouldn’t overdo it,” says Schaffer, who likes to train with weights himself.

This also applies to running. “Most people make the mistake of going too fast when running,” explains Florian Retter, managing director of “Topsport”. To start running, simply put on good running shoes and go outside. “You shouldn’t start too quickly and keep the pace down. It’s not about time, it’s about having fun.”

Uschi Kahrer from the “SOLRunners” running club in Sollenau has been running regularly for 26 years. She runs distances of 10 to 15 kilometers about five times a week. But she also started slowly and recommends not setting your goals too high at the beginning. “One to two kilometers of alternating running and walking is a good start,” she says. Because if you ask yourself too much, at some point it won’t be fun anymore. In order not to find excuses, you should write the sports session as an appointment in your calendar. “This makes it easier to integrate exercise regularly into your everyday life.”

Die Wr. Neustädter “Fitboutique” is a purely women’s studio, as Gerald Moser-Traun says. From circuit training, muscle building and pelvic floor training to Slim Body and Vaku Styler, there are many variants that will help you get and stay fit. Moser-Traun also advises not to overdo it when starting training and to exercise two to four times a week. “It’s important to take a day’s break between training so that the body can recover.”

In addition to regular exercise, diet is also important. In addition to complete performance diagnostics, “Topsport” also offers nutritional advice. “When you exercise you need a lot of energy, so a balanced diet and freshly cooked food is important,” says Retter. Also, don’t forget to drink enough.

According to Schaffer, whether you exercise regularly and stick to it has a lot to do with having fun. “It depends on the fun whether you like the sport or not.” Tastes are diverse, so it is important to find the right sport to keep your body fit.” Exercise is always helpful in staying on the ball to make the group.
