Brothershp's physical copy is reportedly leaking

Nintendo’s Mario & Luigi: Brothership was announced in June of this year and is set to release for the Nintendo Switch in November of this year. While we’re still almost a full month away from the game hitting stores, a copy has apparently been leaked and someone is currently playing it.

The leak supposedly comes from a physical copy of the German version, which shows the downloaded game along with a screenshot:

No further information is being revealed, and remember, there’s a chance this is fake, but based on the comments on it, it could be the real thing. If that’s the case, you should be careful of spoilers online.

What is Mario & Luigi: Brothership about?

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a role-playing game that is reportedly in development at ILCA. It is the sixth main installment in the Mario & Luigi series and the first installment not to be developed by the now-defunct AlphaDream after it closed due to bankruptcy in October 2019. This is the first game in the franchise to feature fully 3D gameplay and the first original entry since the release of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam in 2015.

If true, this isn’t the only thing that’s leaked from Nintendo recently. Over the weekend, it was announced that Game Freak – the studio behind Nintendo’s Pokemon franchise – had suffered a major data breach. Some of the leaked data from this breach included information about a new Pokemone game codenamed “Synapse.” Game Freak has now confirmed the data breach and issued a statement about it.

While spotting physical copies at retail is nothing new, it’s strange how far we are from November 7th, the game’s retail release date. Don’t be surprised if more information about “Mario & Luigi: Brothership” leaks soon.
