Arrest in Lacombe area for murder of 29-year-old man

LACOMBE, La. (WVUE) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Jason Sumner, who was shot and killed in Lacombe on Wednesday, October 9, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred outside a home on East Jackson Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Sumner lying near the porch, apparently bleeding from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Sumner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Caleb Gasery, 17, of Lacombe, was arrested Tuesday (Oct. 15) and charged with second-degree murder.
