Information about starting your career for students and parents

The 31st Job Start Market will take place in Bad Krozingen on October 23rd. Students and parents can find out interesting facts about apprenticeships there.

To make the transition from school to work easier, there is a tried and tested concept in Bad Krozingen: the Job Start Market (formerly the Job Start Exchange), a cooperation event between the city, secondary school, trade association and AOK. It’s that time again on October 23rd. For the 31st time, around 400 students from Bad Krozingen and the surrounding area as well as their parents have the opportunity to find out about apprenticeships or study programs from the more than 20 participating companies and institutions at the Max Planck Realschule. You can virtually explore various professional fields using VR glasses that can be borrowed from the employment agency.

New this year is “speed dating,” where students meet companies one-on-one, as well as the opportunity to have professional application photos taken free of charge. In addition, a request from the student body was taken up, so that from this year onwards, in addition to the financial gifts from the trade association for the most committed classes, there will also be a challenge cup. “We are proud that here in Bad Krozingen we are also pursuing an educational approach with the job start market, in which the students, together with the teachers, prepare in advance for possible career fields and training offers from the participating companies “Then when registering for the job start market, make an appointment at up to four companies,” said Bad Krozingen’s mayor Volker Kieber. Sabine Stein, principal of the Max Planck Realschule, no longer sees the future challenge in getting students into specific careers or training courses. “Instead, career orientation increasingly means accompanying young people on their next steps, because no one is looking for a lifelong career these days.”

Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., parents will be offered information on the topics “Role of parents in their children’s career choice process” and “Career career changers,” for which registration is not necessary.
