More than 1,500 doctors are calling on Trump to release the health plan

More than 1,500 doctors across the country are calling on former President Trump to release his health care plan three weeks before Election Day.

In the new letter from the Committee to Protect Health Care PAC, which has endorsed Vice President Harris, more than 1,500 doctors call on the Republican candidate to clarify his plans for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) after he spoke out on the issue during his debate had against Harris last month.

“I have an idea of a plan. “I’m not president right now,” Trump said during the debate.

“Mr. “Trump has either refused or simply failed to share concrete plans to improve the ACA, including in the recent debate,” the doctors said in a letter shared with The Hill. “Our patients and Americans at large “Countries deserve to know what their healthcare needs will face in a second Trump presidency so they can make informed decisions on November 5th.”

The letter comes as the former president and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio), have sent mixed messages about their plans for health care reform. In the debate, Trump said the law was “bad” but that he would implement it “as best as he can” unless there is a cheaper and better option.

“It will still never be great,” Trump said. “If we can come up with a plan that costs our people, our population less money and provides better health care than ObamaCare, then I would definitely do it. … We could do a lot better than ObamaCare.”

ABC News anchors pressed Trump on the matter, leading to his often-derided “concept of a plan.”

Trump has been attacking ObamaCare since he first ran for president in 2015. At the time, he said he would replace it “with something great.”

But during his four years in the White House, including two years in which both chambers of Congress were controlled by Republicans, he failed to repeal and replace the program.

According to a KFF health monitoring poll released in May, about 60 percent of voters said they had a positive opinion of the ACA.

“So when Mr. Trump says he will make the ACA ‘much better,’ doctors have to ask themselves how,” the doctors said in the letter.

The Trump campaign responded to the letter with a statement from its national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, saying the Republican candidate “is not running to repeal the Affordable Care Act – he is running to make health care affordable again by repealing the Affordable Care Act.” Increases transparency, promotes choice and competition.” Expanding access to new affordable health care and prescription drug options.”

She also said Trump would “establish a special presidential commission of independent minds not bought and paid for by Big Pharma and task them with investigating what is causing the decades-long rise in chronic diseases.”
