The Johannesburg Roads Agency is planning an upgrade to traffic light vehicle detection in Jan Smuts and St Alberts

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is keeping a close eye on the timing of traffic lights at the intersection of Jan Smuts Avenue and St Alberts Road.
Resident Mike Blanchard reached out to the publication on Sept. 24 and expressed concerns about the long traffic lights at the intersection.
JRA spokeswoman Bertha Peters-Scheepers said the company’s traffic signal depot examined the crossing times and found them consistent with the design of the traffic lights.
