Senator Ted Cruz visits Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Following the Senate debate in Texas, Sen. Ted Cruz made a pit stop in Wichita Falls on Wednesday and received a lot of support.

Over 300 Ted Cruz supporters attended this rally in Wichita Falls.

After the rally, we had the opportunity to speak with Senator Cruz about the debate and what he thinks Texas should keep in mind heading into the election.

“The Bill of Rights is worth defending, Texas is worth defending, the Constitution is worth defending,” Cruz chanted at his rally.

After a monumental evening for Texans on both sides of the aisle in the state Senate debate, Senator Cruz believes he is the best fit for the seat.

“So the real purpose of the debate last night was to lay out his record and my record because they are very, very different,” Cruz said.

“High taxes and strict regulations will deprive small businesses of their livelihoods. Well, guess what, that’s Allred’s plan,” Cruz told his supporters.

“We sustain Texas jobs by creating an environment where small businesses thrive. I did that for 12 years in the Senate. “To be a champion of small businesses, a champion of jobs, a champion of farmers and ranchers, and an advocate for the continued preservation of Texas, Texas,” he stated.

Cruz said he has a track record of success as a state senator.

“I spent twelve years fighting for freedom. Our basic constitutional rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the Second Amendment. And for 12 years, I fought for security, supported law enforcement, and fought to secure the border. These are the common sense values of Texans. “Congressman Allred’s record on all of these issues is completely wrong.” He explained.

In their only debate, the two argued about immigration, abortion and transgender rights.

Cruz called Allred “radical and extreme.”

“It’s a radical agenda. Look, it’s so radical, we had a lot of discussion about it last night. Now, locally, Allred has supported boys’ participation in girls’ sports,” Cruz said.

“He voted 100 percent with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Collin Allred is Kamala Harris, and those are not the values of the people of Texas,” he said.

As Texans go to the polls, he wants voters to keep Texas in mind.

“This is a fundamental decision and it’s really about the decision to keep Texas, Texas. Look, there’s a lot going on in the state of Texas. There’s a reason thousands of people move to Texas every day. The main reason is that there are jobs in Texas,” he said.

Early voting begins October 21st and Election Day is November 5th. Further information about polling stations can be found here.
