Kerala schedule of Jayasurya’s Kathanar: The Wild Wizard packed

The makers of the Malayalam actor Jayasuryais the most awaited film Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer recently took to her social media to announce this packed of the film Kerala schedule. In a statement released, the makers said, “Kathanar’s main chapter was completed with a shoot lasting 212 days and a period of 18 months.” According to them, only 12 more days of shooting are left for the entire production to be completed. The final stage of filming is planned in Rome, Italy.

Kathanar, a fantasy thriller

Kathanar, a highly ambitious fantasy thriller, is based on the stories of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a priest from Kerala who was believed to have supernatural powers. Led by Rojin Thomas Best known for his film Home with Sreenath Bhasi and Indrans, Kathanar has Jayasurya in the role of the lead character Kathanar. The actor underwent a complete physical transformation for the film, which included losing a few kilos and sporting a thick beard. Baahubali actors Anushka Shetty makes her Malayalam debut by playing the female lead in this film. Kathanar also marks Prabhu Deva’s return to Malayalam cinema, 13 years after his last outing in the Santhosh Sivan directorial Urumi. Actor and dance choreographer Sandy, best known for his role in the Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj film Leo, also plays a prominent role.

A Pan-India Project

The screenplay of Kathanar is written by debutant R Ramanand. With the support of Sree Gokulam Movies, it will be made as a pan-India project with most portions being shot using virtual production technology. The film has Neil D. Cunha as cinematographer, Jungjin Park as action choreographer and Rahul Subrahmanian Unni as music director.
