Fortnite Chapter 6: Release date, possible skins, new mechanics and more

Fortnite Chapter 6: Release date, possible skins, new mechanics and more

Fortnite dataminers have revealed the release schedule for Chapter 6. Here’s everything you need to know about it, including all the new additions.

The start of Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 4 may have been a bit rocky as the new jetpack meta took over. But now that the item has been secured and Fortnitemares is finally live, things are looking up again and the tension in the battle royale is increasing again.

While this is the case like any other season, not everything is permanent. The current chapter is nearing completion, but we have Fortnite OG Season 2 coming up, followed by the long-awaited Chapter 6.

Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Chapter 6, including the release schedule, possible skins and collaborations, and mechanics coming to the game.

Fortnite Chapter 6 release schedule

While OG Season 2 is next, dataminers have already revealed the key release dates for Chapter 6 along with its seasons and updates. Please find the full schedule below. Please note, however, that this can change at any time.

Leaked skins and possible collaboration

Each new season and chapter in Fortnite usually comes with a theme. This year alone, we’ve had a mythology-inspired, post-apocalyptic theme and even a Marvel season – and for Chapter 6, it looks like that will be superhero-based.

Well-known leaker HYPEX has just revealed survey skins that could potentially make it into the game. As can be seen from the outfits presented, many of them have a similar theme, with colorful suits and capes, some of which have seemingly elemental effects.

There are also rumors of a K-Pop collaboration at the Fortnite Festival around the time Chapter 6 releases. Although it is not known which K-pop group will be there, some fans have speculated that they could be NewJeans, TWICE, Aespa and Le Sserafim.

New mechanics come into play

Earlier this year, leakers pointed out that Chapter 6 would bring swing and gut mechanics to the game.

Now, swinging isn’t exactly new to the game, as we’ve had similar mobility items in the past that allowed players to swing, like Spider-Man’s web shooter and grapple gloves.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this could be introduced into the battle royale once the chapter goes live later.

In the meantime, subsceptible is something new that has never been added to the game before. If you’ve played PUBG or other popular shooters, you’ll quickly become familiar with these mechanics. When lying down, your character is essentially lying on the ground.

This is useful when you want to hide from the enemy to heal, reload, or reposition without getting caught.

Other leaks suggest this First person mode will come to play in Chapter 6. Currently this feature can only be used in UEFN and Creative Maps.

Furthermore, it is likely that the game will be successful Weapon charms, creative pet support and a floating island theme in this chapter, according to leakers.

Take all of this information with a grain of salt at this point as they are still leaks without direct confirmation from the developers. With that in mind, we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information regarding Fortnite Chapter 6 becomes available. So keep checking back.
