Baba Siddique Murder: Gunmen Conducted Reconnaissance and Used Car After Bicycle Accident

The three defendants in the Assassination of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiquehad conducted a reconnaissance of the murder site several days before the incident. They used a motorcycle to explore. However, the three were arrested on the day of the murder They traveled to the location in an autorickshaw as their motorcycle was involved in an accident a few days before.

Of the three men, Gurmail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap have been arrested while Shiv Kumar Gautam is currently on the run. A fourth suspect, Harish Kumar Balakram Nisadwas arrested in Uttar Pradesh on Monday and brought to Mumbai on Tuesday.

According to police, Harish Balakram Nishad received Rs 60,000 from a person named Pravin Lonkar to buy a bike. With Rs 32,000 of this money, he bought an old motorcycle in Pune.

Police suspect that a Turkish-made 7.62 mm pistol was used in the crime, which was recovered from a bag 250 meters from the crime scene. The bag also contained an Aadhaar card in the name of Shiv Kumar Gautam, a motorcycle purchase receipt and an extra shirt.

Police believe Dharmaraj and Gurmail Singh were able to change their shirts after the shooting. Police also suspect that Shiv Kumar also changed his clothes, threw away the bag and fled the area.

Baba Siddique was killed by the three men in Mumbai’s Bandra outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique on the night of October 12. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he was declared dead.
