Blitz Vega have released a music video for their track “Pass The Gun” which features Z-Trip. Reybee sent me the following details: (Originally written by Kav Sandhu when he was a teenager. “Pass The Gun” (video out today) stands out from the other tracks on Northern Gentleman, Blitz Vega’s debut album (out now), ab It was inspired by a specific time and encompasses the “excitement of youth when looking at the world with a carefree attitude.” Kav adds: “Musicians in bands I respected, like Bonehead from Oasis, said: ‘ You have to record this song.’ Again!’ Inspired by influences in our lives at the time – clubs, parties, good times and all the characters you meet while in that zone!”

Blitz Vega is a band that Kav and the late Andy Rourke formed in 2016 and officially launched in 2019, and Northern Gentleman captures the dynamic vitality of their collaborative songwriting. The album opens with the chiming “Disconnected,” which showcases Andy’s signature melodic bass line and Kav’s mesmerizing vocals, and ends with the scratchy and big beat-percussion closing track “Pass The Gun.” The album shines and sparkles in a musical swirl.

Titled in honor of Andy, a Mancunian who was a “gentleman of the north,” the 10-track album documents the duo’s time together: a record that reflects their creative connection, brotherhood and spirit Carrying on despite overwhelming challenges is marked by Andy’s illness in the midst of the pandemic lockdown. But if you spin the record without knowing the context or backstory, you’ll discover a record that, in varying turns, inspires with fleeting exuberance, hits hard with swaggering rock ‘n’ roll hooks, and offers unexpectedly unorthodox touches of classic sonic touchpoints , complemented by an undercurrent of forward-thinking electronica.

Kav is determined to celebrate the album and also wants to keep the promise he made to Andy to not only release the album but also tour it, no matter the circumstances. While Blitz Vega’s post-Andy future is one that Kav and the band haven’t decided on yet, he’s committed to making sure people get to hear the album Andy was making up until his death – ” he was so excited for people to hear it.” “I have no idea about writing new music as Blitz Vega,” Kav continues. “We’re just taking it one step at a time. We definitely want to “I promised Andy that.” To keep this promise, Kav and live band Blitz Vega are playing shows across the UK in 2024.

As a posthumous album by Andy Rourke, Northern Gentleman is a testament to the power and impact that Andy Rourke had and continues to have.
