Man charged with killing his wife

The broken relationship is said to have been the motive of a man who is said to have killed his wife. Now charges have been brought.

Kaiserslautern (dpa/lrs) – A man in Kaiserslautern has been charged with allegedly killing his estranged wife. According to the results of the investigation, the accused gained access to the previously shared apartment on the night of June 16, 2024 Reichenbach-Steegen (Kaiserslautern district) and killed his 34-year-old wife, the public prosecutor’s office said. The 53-year-old American made use of his right to remain silent and did not comment. The man is in custody. The public prosecutor said he is said to have killed the woman by hitting her neck. The charge is manslaughter. The couple’s son found his mother’s body and called the police.

Such violent crimes are also known as femicide. Femicide means that women are killed because of their gender – including because they are women. The most common form is the killing of women by partners or ex-partners.
