Subnautica 2 starts in early access in 2025 and comes with co-op mode in Game Pass

Unknown Worlds Entertainment announced this evening that the survival game Subnautica 2 will enter early access in 2025.

The early access version will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and Subnautica 2 will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.

With Subnautica 2 on a new planet

The sequel to the survival hit takes you to a brand new alien planet where you fight for survival alone or with friends.

“As we announced in the stunning trailer shown during the Xbox Partner Preview event, you will travel beyond planet 4546B for the first time in the Subnautica series,” it says.

“Whether you have experience from your previous adventures or are new to the Subnautica games, you will explore lush new environments, encounter fascinating creatures at every turn, and uncover the secrets within this mysterious planet. But as familiar as things may seem at first glance to experienced players, Subnautica 2 offers new and unique experiences that will keep you on your toes… Fins.

You can experience Subnautica 2 both alone and with friends: “The cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players, which our community has repeatedly requested over the years, will be available with the start of the Xbox Game Preview.”
