The suspect in the Oct. 9 murder of a homeless man was arrested in Jackson, Tennessee.

Jimmy W. Nunnery, 51, of Springfield, was identified by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit as a suspect in the killing of 59-year-old Bryan York, who was found under a bush in the 1800 block of E. Bennett Street. According to police, York had injuries consistent with an assault that led to his death.

On Oct. 16, the case was presented to the Greene County District Attorney’s Office and Nunnery was charged with second-degree murder without bail. SPD said it received information today that led to Nunnery’s arrest.

Investigators are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with additional information to call (417) 864-1810, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (417) 869-TIPS (8477) or share information online through P3 Tips.
