FBC: Firebreak is Remedy’s multiplayer shooter in the Control universe, coming in 2025

FBC: Firebreak is Remedy’s multiplayer shooter in the Control universe, coming in 2025

Remedy announced its co-op multiplayer shooter FBC: Firebreak, set in the Control universe, at the Xbox Partner Showcase this evening.

The whole thing is called a “co-op experience for three players” and lets you compete together against various opponents.

A standalone experience

“FBC: Firebreak is not a Control DLC and definitely not a Control sequel,” game director Mike Kayatta is quoted as saying.

FBC: Firebreak will be released in 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation. At launch you can play it directly in Game Pass. Then you can see the first trailer:

“FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter for three players,” explains communications director Thomas Puha. “It will be easy to play, a game to enjoy with your friends and in which you can tackle several hectic co-op missions that showcase Remedy’s creativity.”

“We’ve always made single-player games at Remedy, and rest assured we have more single-player games in development and they’ll be amazing, but we’ve wanted to make a PvE multiplayer game for a long time. There are many of us here who, in addition to the single player mode, also have the multiplayer mode. We don’t always want to make the same type of games;

You play here as a “First Responder” for the Federal Bureau of Control. These send people into the dark heart of their transforming, spooky headquarters, the Oldest House, to ward off supernatural threats.

Although this is all reminiscent of another PvE multiplayer shooter, according to Remedy they want to add their own touch to the enemies, environments and especially the equipment.
