England coach Thomas Tuchel is facing a dispute between club and country over summer friendlies in the USA

England coach Thomas Tuchel is facing a dispute between club and country over summer friendlies in the USA

However, the proposed games come at the end of a busy domestic season and just before the start of the Club World Cup, in which Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid will take part.

This means England stars such as Kane, Bellingham, John Stones, Foden, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, Levi Colwill, Palmer and Conor Gallagher face incredibly tough deadlines.

The Premier League season ends on May 25th, with England’s friendlies potentially taking place in the US between then and the start of the Club World Cup, which takes place between June 15th and July 13th.

“Very demanding schedule for the players”

Players have already threatened strikes because of the crowded calendar, while Tuchel had previously complained as club coach about the number of international matches.

Some of these old complaints were put to Tuchel at his unveiling as England manager this week and he responded by saying: “Good. Now it’s not enough, we need more games!

“We won’t have much time. Looking at the schedule, we hear the players’ voices and I think they have a reason [to complain]. The schedule of finishing the season with the Champions League final, then taking an international break and then playing the Club World Cup is a very, very demanding schedule for the players. And now it’s a new perspective for me. I’m glad to have it. It will help me become a better coach.
