‘A Lot’ of Steelers Don’t Want Russell Wilson to Start Before Justin Fields

In Pittsburgh this week – and indeed for months – headlines have been dominated by the debate between Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Wilson has yet to lose for the Steelers as he is dealing with a calf injury that he suffered just before the start of the regular season. In his place, Fields led Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start, throwing for five touchdowns and running for five touchdowns – a temporary revival of his career.

As Wilson nears his health and Fields’ time as the Steelers’ starter comes to an end, sources tell SI’s Albert Breer that not everyone in the Pittsburgh organization is excited about a potential move.

“This is a decision that has not yet been made,” Breer continued The Rich Eisen Show Tuesday. “I know some people there who feel like Tomlin is going to take this thing until the end of the week and really take a hard look at it.”

The Steelers will play the New York Jets in this week’s edition of Football on Sunday evenings.

“There are a lot of people in this place right now that feel like Russell Wilson would limit them offensively in a way that Justin Fields doesn’t, which I think is a big part of why so many feel People there just wish Tomlin.” “I would stick with Fields,” Breer said.
