Clear defeat against former coach Payton: Saints have no chance against Broncos

The New Orleans Saints suffered their fifth defeat in their seventh game against the Denver Broncos and have fewer and fewer hopes of a successful season.

Denver head coach Sean Payton, formerly of New Orleans, talks to Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler.

Against ex-successful coach Sean Payton, of all people, the Saints lost at home to the Denver Broncos 10:33 – and that on the evening that quarterback Drew Brees was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame during halftime. Payton and Brees are responsible for the team’s only Super Bowl victory.

It was difficult to come to this stadium because so many memories were made here.

“I’m happy, of course,” said Payton after his team’s victory at his old place of work. “It was difficult to come to this stadium because so many memories were really made here. So many. But it’s about the players.”

First Saints touchdown with 82 seconds left

Against the Broncos, the Saints, plagued by many injuries, found no means offensively, as they did recently, and only got their first and only touchdown with 82 seconds left. Quarterback Derek Carr is among the injured players. Spencer Rattler played for him from the start. However, the pass for the touchdown was thrown by Jake Haener, who came onto the field at the end when the party had long since been decided. Who will be allowed to play against the Los Angeles Chargers seems questionable.

On the other hand, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had worse statistics compared to Rattler, but he was convincing as the manager of the game and set up the two touchdowns after running plays by Javonte Williams.

Nix threw for 164 yards and ran for 75 yards. “He made the right decisions and threw the right passes,” Williams said. “He’s getting better every game.”
