Surprising: Amazon is launching a new Fire TV Stick with voice control and operation of TV devices

Quite surprisingly, Amazon is now offering a new TV stick. The Fire TV Stick HD is available now for a price of 45 euros and is available directly, so delivery can take place as early as tomorrow. The Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite without TV control buttons, which is 10 euros cheaper, is still on sale, the Fire TV Stick with control buttons and Dolby Atmos support is no longer available.

The functionality of the new Fire TV Stick HD only requires a brief explanation: The stick is plugged into a free HDMI port on a display, the power is supplied via USB – there is usually already a corresponding port on the TV, otherwise a power supply must be used will be. The Fire TV Stick HD turns any display into a Smart TV; a discarded screen can quickly become a display device or the operating system of an older television, which may no longer be supported, can be replaced. Access is not only possible to Amazon’s streaming offering, apps can be installed.

The 86 x 30 x 13 millimeter Fire TV Stick HD can only output image content with Full HD resolution, which means there are limitations on modern TV sets. The scope of delivery includes a remote control that can control not only the stick, but also connected, compatible devices such as the television, a soundbar or an AV receiver. It can be easily controlled using voice input, and smart home devices such as lighting can also be addressed. Dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth are supported, and the use of headphones or controllers is possible.
