The future until 2029 is secured

The American sci-fi animated series Rick and Morty continues to enjoy great popularity. Many additional seasons of “Rick and Morty” were ordered a few years ago, and at least ten seasons would have been produced. At New York Comic Con 2024 it was announced that you can expect more interdimensional fun.

Two more seasons for “Rick and Morty” confirmed

The US broadcasting home adult swim has now announced two more seasons at the NYCC, which means that the animated escapism about brilliant scientists and dumb grandchildren will run for at least twelve seasons. Or said: There will be further episodes to be seen differently around the world by 2029. Incidentally, in seasons three, four, five and six it was the most popular comedy series on US cable television and won two Emmys for “Excellent animation program“ clear away.

Good news came from New York Comic Con 2024

The panel at New York Comic Con featured executive producers Dan Harmon and Scott Marder, along with keynote speakers Harry Belden, Ian Cardoni, Sarah Chalke, Spencer Grammer and Chris Parnell. A first-look video for the eighth season, which is scheduled to premiere in 2025, was also released. The series is now running in more than 134 countries and in 38 language versions. In Germany, Warner TV Comedy and Sky / WOW show it first and later it comes to Netflix.

Of course, those present also made a few statements about the renewed extension. Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim said: “Since its first season, Rick and Morty has set new standards in adult animation and shows no signs of stopping. Dan, Scott and the incredibly talented team behind Rick and Morty continue to outdo themselves, and I will join the millions of fans worldwide who look forward to more adventures in the years to come.“

Harmon stated: “Nobody becomes a universe without “Rick and Morty”, fortunately the list of possible locations remains endless.“

Marder alluded to a famous Rick quote from an early episode: “I couldn’t be more proud to have taken on this baton passing during the fourth season of Rick and Morty and taking us to the tenth season. Now going beyond that is a gift I can’t wait to give to our fans. “Rick and Morty” – one hundred years – forever!“
