HOLLYWOOD, FL. (WSVN) – An arrest has been made in the investigation into a body found burning in a Hollywood alley, police said.

Marquis Tromon, 41, of Denmark, was taken into custody Wednesday after police determined he violated a city ordinance and revealed he had two active warrants for his arrest related to crimes against a person and mistreatment of a person The arrest report states that there were deceased human bodies.

Police responded to reports of a fire in the alley behind 515 N 21st Ave. on August 12, where she found the charred remains of a body. Homicide detectives and arson investigators were dispatched to the scene, which was secured for nearly six hours.

During Wednesday’s arrest, officers reportedly discovered 0.9 grams of MDMA, a synthetic drug owned by Denmark with a street value of about $10. He is charged with felonies related to the deceased corpse and possession of the controlled substance.

The identity of the deceased is currently unknown and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

The cause of the fire and the events leading up to the incident remain under investigation.
