Steam is making the game 9/10 available to download for free for just 5 days – Steam

This is definitely a trap because the developers know that this game is so good that you will want to buy it after the fact

If you’re interested in trying out one of the best strategy games of all time completely free, then I have great news for you.

Europa Universalis IVa 2013 strategy game from developer Paradox Development Studios, is currently free to play on Steam for the next five days. The game also received a “very positive” rating on Steam with a total of over 87,000 user reviews.

Critics were equally pleased with the game upon its initial release, as the title has a score of 87/100 on Metacritic. PC Gamer’s Len Hager called it “an enlightened balance of depth and accessibility that brings great strategy into a new era” in his 91/100 review. The game was also nominated for the Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year award at the 17th Annual DICE Awards.

If strategy games are your thing, keep an eye on it Civilization VII as it prepares for launch.

Europa Universalis IV also continues to receive regular official updates and expansions. The latest expansion, Europa Universalis IV: Winds of Changewas published in May of this year. When I said this game came out in 2013, that wasn’t a typo. Europa Universalis IV has received content updates for over 11 years at this point.

But what if you try? Europa Universalis IV and decide you like it after the free trial expires? Wouldn’t it be a huge joke to get a taste of how great a game is and then tear it down after five days of playing it?

Don’t worry because Europa Universalis IV will also be on offer for the duration of the free trial. The price is currently down to £4.54 after an 87% price drop.

Be warned though, this in itself is a trap. There are 33 separate DLC parts for Europa Universalis IVmeaning the initial low price of £4.54 can easily lead to a total purchase of up to £250 (if you’re so obsessed with the game that you just HAVE to buy all the additional content).
