Csello Mühle Oslip: New winner at the 2024 Regionality Award Festival

My district of Burgenland honored eight winners with the 2024 Regionality Prize on Thursday at the Csello Mühle Oslip. The Raiffeisen Sustainability Prize 2024 was also awarded as part of the festival.

OSLIP. Over 150 guests from Burgenland’s economy, politics and culture came to the big festival at the Csello Mühle Oslip. The current regional and sustainable stars of Burgenland were honored there. The moderator led the evening Sissy Gamauf-LeitnerThe award ceremony was musically accompanied by the music coverett Mini & Claus as well as that Weinland Neckenmarkt-Horitzon Music Association.

Trophies and reports

The jury – consisting of representatives of the sponsors Raiffeisen Burgenland, the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and the Burgenland Economic Association as well as MeinBezirk Burgenland – had chosen a total of seven winners in advance. The seven winners and the “Special Readers’ Prize” winner can each receive a full-page report in all MeinBezirk Burgenland editions as well as a unique trophy from the Oggau artist Klaus Zeiler I’m happy. The festive evening began with a ninth prize winner, the winner of the Raiffeisen Sustainability Prize 2024.

Glass artist Lisa Lehner

And this one came on Lisa Lehner from the Kuglerei Glasmanufaktur in Siegendorf. The qualified glass artist collects used glass that would end up in the trash and breathes new life into the bottles with creativity, craftsmanship and sensitivity.

Stone Black

The first regional prize of the evening in the “Art, Culture & Customs” category went to the master stonemason Stein Schwarz from Moschendorf. Managing Director Kurt Black There, unique stone cups can be made from leftover materials from the written stone and these can now be sold as far away as New York.

Larimar Hotel

Commercial Council Johann Haberl accepted the award in the “Gastronomy & Tourism” category for his Larimar Hotel in Stegersbach. The hotelier attaches great importance to an ecological operation with lots of natural materials, green roofs, photovoltaic systems, energy-saving LED lighting and bioenergy heating.

Association “Around the Moor”

The “Environment & Renewable Energy” category was won by the “Rund ums Moor” association from Rohr with its chairman Gernot Kremsner decide for yourself. The association has been protecting the largest fen in the Pannonian region, the “Auwiesen Zickebachtal”, with 42 hectares, for 20 years. The 12,000-year-old and 13-meter-deep moor has been a nature reserve since 1991 and helps with climate protection because there is more Co2 saves as forests. It also serves as a habitat for rare bird and plant species as well as the Zickental moor ox.

Güssing hunting cooperative

For their exceptional animal protection, the Güssing hunting cooperative became a hunting leader Rainer Schwarz awarded in the “Agriculture and Forestry” category. With the help of drones and local farmers, hunters were able to save 20 fawns during the spring mowing season. The animals are always at risk of being overlooked by mowing machines in the long grass and thus being injured or even killed. Thermal imaging from the drones used was able to prevent this.

Lumitech lighting

Considered a utopian vision in the 90s, professional LED lighting is now essential. Lumitech Lighting Solution GmbH from Jennersdorf, which won the regionality award in the “Trade” category, made a significant contribution to this. The company with managing director Stefan Täsch now employs 52 people and has improved the lighting in schools, offices and home offices with its latest “Bio-Logic Light” technology.

Holzwuam

Only founded in Neumarkt an der Raab in 2020, the handicraft business “Holzwuam” can look forward to winning in the “Crafts & Service Providers” category. founder Benjamin Fink Preserves and teaches traditional wood crafts with special workshops for children and ensures that the craft has a future.

“GETSGO Stadtschlaining” association

The youth basketball club “GETSGO Stadtschlaining” has been committed to supporting children and young people for 19 years and thus makes a significant contribution to their social and health development. The association around chairman Hannes Mühl trains over 100 children from over ten communities free of charge every week. This resulted in victory in the “Health & Social Affairs” category on Thursday.

Special price for hunting club

The “Special Readers’ Prize” went to the Jennersdorf district hunting club with him. With regard to the renaturation law, this shows that nature conservation and economic interests are compatible. Instead of setting aside ten percent or more of the area, targeted measures on three to five percent of the area could have more of an impact on biodiversity. The hunting club has taken an extensive inventory and shown that there is more potential than originally expected, explains chairman Erwin Mirth.
