Teens arrested, third suspect remains at large after Lawrence shooting

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – Two juveniles have been arrested while a third suspect remains at large after shots were fired in South Lawrence.

Lawrence, Kansas police say that around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​33rd and Michigan St. with reports of shots fired.

Police officials said a drone was deployed in the area to find the suspects. Witnesses reported three people were seen in the area, but one had disappeared.

Police said two juveniles were arrested during the investigation. The third, who is still at large, is accused of being the shooter. They have yet to be taken into custody.

Investigators determined that no injuries were reported as a result. The two teenagers arrested said they witnessed the shooting but fled when he fired.

As of 7:30 p.m., the investigation is ongoing. Both minors were released back into the care of their parents.
