Bethany Joy Lenz says Cult gave her a “sex plan” with her husband

Bethany Joy Lenz opens up about her time as a member of an isolated Christian group called The Big House Family.

On Wednesday’s episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Lenz discussed her decades-long involvement with the group, which she readily describes as a cult. During that time, the former “One Tree Hill” actress said she was pressured into marrying one of the leader’s sons, whom she identifies as “QB.”

In addition to accusing the group of squandering much of her Hollywood earnings, Lenz claimed that the leaders imposed what she called a “sex plan” on her and her then-husband in order to foster a deeper connection between the two support financially.

“Because I was so uninterested in sex, I was asked to set up a schedule that was basically, ‘Here’s how you can do it – you just have to do it.’ Just do it. This is your duty. This is your job as a wife. Your feelings will be brought into harmony. “If you do it enough times, eventually you’ll find a way to enjoy it,” she told “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper.

“It was a routine that I had to participate in to keep the peace in my marriage.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Lenz said she “hated” being intimate with QB and would leave him for weeks when she was working – but he would expect Lenz to have sex upon her return.

“I had so much post-traumatic stress disorder because I showed up at the airport to see him and knew I had to start this sex schedule for the next two or three weeks or whatever,” she explained.

It is unclear whether Lenz was referring to the musician Michael Galeotti. She was married to Galeotti from 2005 to 2012 and has a 13-year-old daughter with him.

According to People, Lenz decided to leave the Big House Family in 2012. She describes her experiences with the group in her new memoir, “Dinner for Vampires.”

The actress first became involved in The Big House Family in the early 2000s, around the time she landed her breakout role as Haley James Scott on One Tree Hill. Her co-stars on the series, including Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray, were aware of their connections to the group.

“For a while they were all trying to save me and save me, which is beautiful and so amazing that they are cared for in that way,” Lenz told Variety last year. “But I was very stubborn.”

Noting that she missed out on “so many” professional opportunities as a member of the Big House family, she added: “Everything I trained for, all my childhood dreams came true and I said no to everything so I could live “With this isolated, small group of people, I was convinced that I was making a noble, spiritual sacrifice.”
