What the Wallpaper* editorial team did this week

Looking for inspiration for upcoming downtime? We’ve put together a quick overview of what the Wallpaper* team did this week – or what they’re planning for the coming days. Here are her recommendations, covering staying at home (Hannah Tindle found the perfect autumnal nail color while Melina Keays cooks quinces), eating out (Tianna Williams tried the Midland Grand in London) and hiking (Ellie Stathakis walk) ( Architours include a zoo).

ATTEMPT: “This week I painted my nails with a polish from Hermès Beauty’s Fall/Winter 2024 Limited Edition line. The shade, called “Vert Bronze,” changes tone every time you look at your hands, appearing as a burnished, dark brown mushroom or moss green.’

LISTEN: This week I enjoyed following Roxy Music’s cover girl Stranded album to hear their guitarist Phil Manzanera unpack his recently released memoir From Revolución to Roxy (The title alludes to Phil’s early childhood in Latin America, where his father worked first as a British Council employee and later as an airline executive.) What follows is a new 11-CD retrospective of Manzanera’s 50 years of work as a solo musician, including “K-Scope,” sampled by Kanye West and Jay-Z for their Grammy Award-winning “No Church in the Wild” – a payday that, Manzanera shared, dwarfed his earnings from his Roxy Music years .
