Number of wounded in shelling of Shostka community rises to 8

The number of wounded as a result of Russian shelling of the Shostka community in the Sumy region has risen to eight.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Sumy Region Prosecutor’s Office.

“According to the investigation, at around 12:20 a.m. on October 19, the occupiers, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, dropped three guided aerial bombs on the central part of the city of Shostka in the Sumy region, according to preliminary information. “As a result of the enemy attack, eight people were injured,” the statement said.

It is noted that police officers are documenting the consequences of the shelling.

A pre-trial investigation into violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being carried out under the procedural direction of the Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office.

As Ukrinform reported, seven people were injured and energy facilities were damaged as a result of Russian troops shelling the Shostka settlement in the Sumy region.

It later became known that five rescuers were injured in Shostka by a Russian airstrike.
