After a heartbreaking loss to Tennessee, returning home could be the boost Florida football needs.

The Florida Gators (3-3, 1-2 SEC) will look to regroup when they take on Kentucky (3-3, 1-3 SEC) in a crucial home game at The Swamp.

With a win, Florida would start its second week open before a Nov. 2 showdown against rival No. 4 Georgia in Jacksonville.

UF is coming off a 23-17 overtime loss at No. 10 Tennessee – a game in which the Gators missed scoring opportunities in the red zone in the first half and failed to build a 10-point lead in the second half to keep.

“That loss hurt, it burned like a terrible taste in our mouths,” Florida tight end Arlis Boardingham said. “But it made us want to be even better, the defense to do more and the offense to contribute a lot more. So I feel like it definitely gave us a positive advantage.”

Florida is 53-21 overall against Kentucky and 29-6 at home. But the Gators have lost their last three games against the Wildcats, including a 26-16 loss in the last meeting between the two schools at The Swamp on September 10, 2022.

UF has a record of 29-5 in its last 34 home games. Last year, UF defeated Vanderbilt 38-14 at home on Oct. 7, 2023.
