Borussia Dortmund survived a brief moment of shock, celebrated a 2-1 win against St. Pauli and continued their unbeaten home streak with 39 games on Friday evening.

The visitors kept Nuri Şahin’s team at bay in the first half until a great corner from Pascal Groß into the penalty area was answered with a dive and a well-aimed header from Ramy Bensebaini, which sailed into the net for his first goal for the club.

As the game entered its final stages, it looked as if the home side would be able to extend their narrow victory, but St. Pauli managed a stunning equalizer out of nowhere when Eric Smith fired home a shot from 30 yards out.

Nevertheless, Dortmund gathered their strength and were able to take the lead again when Serhou Guirassy got in front of his opponent and headed a dangerous ball from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens into the penalty area.

The Bundesliga games continue on Saturday: Bayer Leverkusen meets Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich meets Stuttgart.
