NFL Fantasy Football: Managers are nervous – will THIS superstar be out?

On Friday night (September 6th) the time has finally come: the new NFL season begins. The Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions, will open the new season with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens.

For NFL fans, the hot phase begins – also for fantasy football. The manager game is now becoming increasingly popular in Germany. However, just before the start, all owners of Ja’Marr Chase are very worried. The superstar could miss the first match day (here live on TV).

Many fantasy leagues have already completed their drafts and the players have already been selected. Ja’Marr Chase will often be selected in the first round. The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver is one of the best players in his position.

Shortly before the start of the season, however, one or two fantasy football managers may be scared because the 24-year-old is still on strike. Chase is currently not taking part in the Bengals’ training, and the wide receiver wants a new contract – even though his current contract still has two years to run.

Chase will sign new contract

Currently, however, he would earn “only” 4.8 million dollars. This is clearly not enough for the superstar, as comparable players such as Justin Jefferson (35 million euros with the Vikings), CeDee Lamb (Dallas Cowboys, 34 million euros) and AJ Brown (Philadelphia Eagles, 32 million euros) earn significantly more than… Chase is said to have a four-year contract with a total value of 138 million euros, of which 105 million euros would be guaranteed.

However, the Bengals are said to be optimistic that an agreement will be reached by game day. It is also unclear how fit Chase is after the long break from training.
