After the crime comedy’s release date was postponed to the fall, “High Potential” is now starting. “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Kaitlin Olson plays Morgan, a single mother who gets a job as a police consultant by chance. The trailer shows first excerpts from Morgan’s hiring process. “High Potential” starts on Tuesday, September 17th on ABC. Episodes will be available on Hulu after they air. Although not yet known, it is likely that the crime comedy will find its international home on Disney+.

This is what “High Potential” is about

Single mother Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) struggles through life as a cleaner. Her job also involves cleaning a police station. When cleaning, she simply can’t hold back: she sees a mistake on the investigators’ board and simply has to correct it.

This is how she draws the attention of the investigative team. Selena (Judy Reyes, “Scrubs”) recognizes Morgan’s potential and decides to hire her as a consultant: “Morgan is an intellectual with high potential. She has special mental abilities.”

Although Morgan’s investigative methods initially seem unconventional, an unusual partnership develops between her and the rule-loving detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata, “Graceland”).

From “Scrubs” to “Batwoman”: Many familiar faces in “High Potential”

Not only Kaitlin Olson (“The Mick”), Judy Reyes (“Devious Maids”) and Daniel Sunjata (“Echoes”) are there, but also Deniz Akdeniz (“The Rookie: Feds”), Javicia Leslie (“Batwoman”), Amirah Johnson (“Shameless”) and Matthew Lamb.

The crime comedy “High Potential” is based on the French series “HIP – Investigator with a Murderous IQ” with Audrey Fleurot (“Fighters”). In Germany, the original was broadcast on NDR on free TV and in the ARD Mediathek.
