Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 update lands on more smartphones: 5 devices receive new Galaxy AI features

Samsung’s latest smartphones, the folding Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, are the only ones that have the latest Samsung operating system, One UI 6.1.1. The South Korean manufacturer recently announced that other models will soon receive an update to the latest operating system. This will also bring with it a lot of practical Galaxy AI features.

Samsung has now officially announced that it plans to bring even more features to older models via One UI 6.1.1. This includes an “interpreter” function that allows you to perform a live translation in one direction, for example during presentations in foreign languages. The “composer” feature helps you create various texts such as emails or social media posts with just a few words, even in your personal writing style.

A so-called “note assistant” from Samsung, which will be available on selected phones with the update, can summarize and translate longer notes for you. Another assistant for transcriptions can create notes from voice recordings. After the update, it will also be possible to open and translate PDFs in Samsung Notes.

The new Galaxy AI features should also support you on an artistic level. The new “Portrait Studio” feature should make it possible to generate portraits in different styles.

According to Samsung’s announcement, the distribution of software updates to One UI 6.1.1 will begin in Europe on September 9, 2024, starting with the updates for the S24 models. The updates for the other models mentioned above will then be made available in the following weeks.
