Eintracht women win as Champions League final draw draws – WELT

The Eintracht Frankfurt women’s football team said goodbye to the Champions League qualification with a win. The Bundesliga club won the undefeated match for third place in the first qualifying round in Reykjavík against FK Minsk 6-0 (3-0). The goals were scored by Laura Freigang with a hat trick (15th minute/28th/45th+2) as well as Remina Chiba (12th/90th) and Lisanne Gräwe (69th).

The 0-2 defeat in the semi-finals of the mini-tournament in Iceland’s capital had already sealed the Hessians’ elimination from the Champions League. Only the tournament winner qualifies for the playoffs, which are the last hurdles before the group phase of the Champions League. The Frankfurt team will continue next Wednesday (6.30 p.m.) in the second round of the DFB Cup against regional league team 1. FFV Erfurt.
