The iPhone 16 actually had a small design update. The camera lenses are now arranged one above the other. Thanks to the two sizes, everyone should get their money’s worth. The choice remains between an iPhone 16 with 6.1 inches (approx. 15 cm) and a larger version with 6.7 inches (approx. 17 cm). As expected, the iPhone Pro’s action button is now also available for the normal model series. Inside the iPhone 16 there is a new A18 chip. Thanks to this, there should be 35% less energy consumption and 40% more performance than its predecessor, the iPhone 15. This will also be necessary for many new functions as part of the AI ​​updates. When these will become relevant in Germany, however, remains to be seen. The battery has also been significantly enlarged, which extends the running time and delivers 30% better gaming performance. The iPhone 16 starts at 949 euros, the Plus at 1,099 euros.

New camera button and “Visual Intelligence”

The highlight of the new device is definitely the new touch surface on the side, which allows you to control the camera. Snapping like a point-and-shoot camera is a useful feature, especially for amateur photographers. This new feature is called “Visual Intelligence”. The touch surface is made of sapphire glass and gives haptic feedback when touched. When you tap this new touch, the phone should automatically analyze the object being photographed, similar to Google Lens, and automatically search for what you see. The sensor of the iPhone 16 camera now has 48 megapixels, the ultra-wide-angle lens has been improved, and macro shots are possible. In other words, you get four lenses in just two lenses. Spatial videos and photos for the Vision Pro are also possible with the iPhone 16.

AirPods Pro: new health features and an integrated hearing test

To protect the ears of its users, Apple will focus more on protection against excessive noise. This was already possible before, but now the devices are specialized for this. The new headphones can even be used as hearing aids. One feature that everyone will definitely want to try out at home right away is the hearing test, which will be available in Germany from autumn 2024. In summary, there are no new AirPods Pro, but there are some new exciting features that should shorten the wait for the new model. AirPods Max: new colors and USB-C port
