NFL – Football superstar Rodgers back: “Felt great” – Sport

Sante Clara (dpa) – Football superstar Aaron Rodgers suffered a clear defeat in his comeback in the North American professional league NFL. Nevertheless, the 40-year-old quarterback of the New York Jets was mainly relieved after the 19:32 loss at the San Francisco 49ers.

“It’s been a while,” he said after the party in Santa Clara. “I felt great and was very grateful just to be back in the jersey. So many people helped me get back in shape, I’m really grateful.”

The four-time MVP tore his Achilles tendon after only a short playing time in his debut for the New York Jets a year ago and had to take a break afterwards. He moved from the Green Bay Packers to New York in April 2023. He won the Super Bowl with Green Bay in 2010.

“I can play better,” said Rodgers after his performance in Santa Clara. He missed a few throws. “I felt like I got the ball out pretty well overall, but there were a few opportunities I would like to have again.” Against the 49ers, he threw a touchdown pass, but also made a bad pass to the opponent (interception).
