Lauren Sanchez shines in transparent Oscar de la Renta at the Kering dinner

Lauren Sánchez combined floral inspiration with one of the hottest red carpet trends of 2024 at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner during New York Fashion Week on Monday, wearing the ideal transitional piece as summer ends and fall approaches.

For the occasion, the children’s book author “Fly Who Flew to Space” wore an off-the-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown. The navy blue dress was made from a sheer and transparent fabric and embellished with a variety of intricate guipure lace details and a delicate velvet peony pattern. The shape of the dress gave Sánchez a figure-hugging silhouette and featured a flowing train.

Sánchez completed the look with pumps by Jimmy Choo. She paired her ensemble with glittery earrings and her 20-30 carat cushion-cut engagement ring from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

Sánchez’s hair was styled by Olivia Halpin in an updo with strands of hair framing her face. Her makeup was done by artist Laura Ann Mele. Sánchez’s entire ensemble was put together by Emmy Award-winning stylist Kelly Johnson.

Oscar de la Renta is just one of the designers Sánchez often looks to as fashion inspiration for various high-profile events. At the 2024 Met Gala in May, Sánchez wore a piece inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2024 collection. The collection was a fashion homage to the historic Art Nouveau style, which featured sinuous curves and botanical inspiration.

Similar to her Met Gala 2024 look, Sánchez’s Oscar de la Renta dress for the Kering Caring for Women dinner included an abundance of botanical inspiration.

The Kering Foundation is an organization that supports women who have been victims of violence. Founded in 2008, the group works with partners to support services for survivors. Other celebrity attendees at the Kering Caring for Women dinner on Monday included Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Kerry Washington and Ashley Graham, among others.
