New standard tariff now available to everyone

Microsoft has officially launched the new Xbox Game Pass Standard plan for all gamers. The service’s newest membership tier includes access to hundreds of games and online console multiplayer, but no day-one releases or cloud gaming.

The standard plan replaces the now discontinued Game Pass for consoles and is available for 12.99 euros per month. The standard plan was first announced in July and was previously available in a preview for Xbox Insiders.

The Game Pass PC plan for 11.99 euros per month and the Ultimate plan for console and PC for 17.99 euros per month also include access to Xbox Day One titles and an EA Play membership. The Ultimate plan also offers cloud gaming.

The entry-level Xbox Game Pass Core, which costs 6.99 euros per month, gives access to a curated “Catalog of over 25 high-quality games on the console” and online multiplayer. All four tiers also offer additional member offers and discounts.

It was already confirmed last month that the new standard tariff may not be supplied with first-party games until more than a year after its release: “Some games included in Game Pass Ultimate (day-one games or other game entries) will not be immediately available with Game Pass Standard and may be added to the library at a later date (this may take up to 12 months or more and varies by title)” Megan Spurr, senior community lead for Game Pass, wrote on Xbox Wire.
