A man buying samosas from Bikaner Sweets in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, found a frog’s leg in one of them. Authorities are reportedly investigating the case.

Food safety in India seems to be becoming a joke, as evidenced by the countless cases of food contamination on social media. Be it food served in trains or restaurants or packed in factories, no sector seems to be immune from contamination. Now, another alarming incident has come to light at a sweet shop in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. A customer who bought samosas from the shop claimed to have found a frog’s leg in one of them. Police have reportedly arrested the shop owner and investigations are underway into the matter.

A video that is all over the internet begins with the frog leg allegedly found in the samosa. As the video continues, the customer shows the shop where he bought the samosa – Bikaner Sweets in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The video then cuts to a group of people walking up to the reception desk and asking for the owner while showing the contaminated samosa. One of the men in the video can be heard asking another to dial 100 (the police helpline number).

Another person in the video notes that she made a conscious decision to buy samosas from this shop despite having other options available to her.

“The incident of frog legs being found in samosas at Bikaner Sweets in Ghaziabad is extremely disturbing. Strict action must be taken against such incidents to ensure food safety,” said one person.

Another added: “The situation is very bad, people do not pay attention to cleanliness.”

A fourth claimed: “Nobody who prepares or serves food in these shops wears shower caps. And everyone has very long nails. There is absolutely no health and hygiene regulations where all this is prepared. Homemade food is the best.”
