The final schedule of ‘Matka’ starring Varun Tej begins today at Ramoji Film City-Telangana

The makers have shared a captivating poster in which Varun Tej can be seen with a glass of liquor, a gun and a pile of cash in the background.

Mumbai: Varun Tej’s upcoming thriller “Matka” has been generating a lot of excitement since its announcement and the first poster. To further fuel the hype, the makers have now released an exciting update on the final part.

The makers wrote on their social media platform Instagram on Thursday, “And the endgame begins… The final schedule of Mega Prince @varunkonidela7’s #MATKA is in the works, some key sequences will be shot in RFC. Exciting news to follow.”

The makers have also released a captivating poster in which Varun Tej is pictured with a glass of liquor, a gun and a pile of cash in the background.

According to early reports, ‘Matka’ will be set against the backdrop of the late 1950s and 1980s, when the influence of gambling on India became evident and saw the rise of India’s greatest Matka king named Ratan Khatri, who was involved in the betting empire.

Besides Tej, ‘Matka’ also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi, Kishore Kumar G, Naveen Chandra and Ravindra Vijay in important roles and is directed by Karuna Kumar, famed director of Sridevi Soda Center.

The film is scheduled to release in 2024 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

Varun Tej was last seen in an aerial action thriller titled Operation Valentine, directed by Shakti Pratap Singh. The film is set after the events of the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019, and starred Manushi Chhillar, Ruhani Sharma, Shataf Figar, Paresh Pahuja and Mir Sarwar in important roles.

The music was composed by Mahanati’s famous music director Mickey J. Meyer and the cinematography was done by Hari K. Vedantam. Operation Valentine was bankrolled by Ravi Ahuja and Sandeep Mudda under the banner of Sony Pictures and God Bless Entertainment.

The action thriller was released on March 1, 2024, but was rejected by moviegoers and critics for failing to understand the depth of such an important event.
