Julie Chen Moonves misses live eviction episode of ‘Big Brother’ for first time after testing positive for COVID; Guest host replacement announced | Big Brother, Jerry O’Connell, Julie Chen | Just Jared: Celebrity news and gossip

Expect the unexpected is right – For the first time ever, Julie Chen Moonves will NOT Big Brother Live episode on the eviction!

The long-time host of the CBS The competition series has never missed a live eviction in the 24 years the show has been on the air.

However, she announced that she will miss TONIGHT’s episode (September 12) because she tested positive for COVID-19.

While Julie is on sick leave, The conversation Co-moderator Jerry O’Connell will take her place and host this week’s live eviction.

“Friday morning I woke up with a sore throat and went to see my good friend who is an ENT doctor,” she said in a message on Instagram. “That evening he called and said I had Covid. Luckily this is only my second time and it was very mild! No fever and just a sore throat.”

“Unfortunately, as of this morning, I still tested positive… although I’m feeling good and strong and my cough is gone, I have to sit out the live Big Brother eviction show tonight,” she continued. “Thank you to Jerry O’Connell for stepping in for me. I hope Jerry fits into my dress, has fun and tells the houseguests I miss them but will be watching from home.”

“See? Chenbot is only human! Love each other and enjoy the show tonight,” she concluded.
