Tri-State Fair & Rodeo continues to have economic impact on the city of Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Tri-State Fair & Rodeo continues to have a positive economic impact on the city of Amarillo.

The fair officially opens today and organizers say that not only the people of Amarillo, but also people outside the area are a big part of what makes the fair so great.

“We have an economic impact through tourism. Many visitors come to Amarillo each year and spend money on hotels, food, gas and shopping. That means our fairgrounds have a huge economic impact,” said Lauren Fritzler, marketing and public relations manager for the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo.

Because the fair is a nonprofit organization, every dollar spent at the fair goes toward scholarships for youth in the Texas Panhandle and toward maintenance of the fairgrounds.

To date, the fair has awarded scholarships worth over half a million dollars.

While you’re having fun at the fair, you’re helping the Texas Panhandle.
