Donald Trump’s outburst against Taylor Swift sparked a wave of support for the singer after the former president declared that he “hates” her.

Last week, following Trump’s chaotic performance during the election debate, Swift made a rare political statement, declaring that she, along with her vice presidential running mate Tim Walz, would support Kamala Harris for president.

Swift’s call for voter registration on Instagram attracted more than 400,000 visitors to the vote.gov website in less than 24 hours.

The 34-year-old pop superstar posted a custom URL to his Instagram stories shortly after endorsing Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election in November.

In her post, she called Harris a “gifted leader” who will lead the country “with calm, not chaos.”

Trump responded to Swift’s post with an all-caps shout, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on his Truth Social platform.

Although Trump’s four words went viral, he inadvertently inspired many others to show their support for Swift: “I love Taylor Swift” has now become a viral counter-trend in which numerous celebrities participate.

Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav wrote: |I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT!!“

Actors Billy Baldwin, Mia Farrow, Bradley Whitford and Mark Hamill also released the same statement. Author Stephen King, a regular Trump critic, added: “I love Taylor Swift. Her music makes me happy. End of story.”

Only murders in the building Star Steve Martin also asked: “How can anyone hate Taylor Swift?”

In her Instagram post, which has now been liked by more than 11 million people, Swift wrote: “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight.

“As a voter, I make sure to see and read everything I can about their policy proposals and plans for this country.”

The singer mentioned artificial intelligence-generated images Trump had previously shared on his Truth Social platform that falsely suggested she was supporting him as a presidential candidate, and spoke about the “dangers of spreading misinformation.”

She wrote: “It was recently brought to my attention that a message was posted on his website in which ‘I’ falsely endorsed Donald Trump’s candidacy for president.

“It really reignited my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that as a voter, I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election. The easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

She added: “I have done my research and made my choice. It is entirely up to you to do your research and make the choice.”

In an obvious dig at Trump’s running mate JD Vance, the singer captioned her post: “Taylor Swift, childless cat lady.”

Swift also used her acceptance speech for Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards to encourage viewers to register to vote.
